Dr Denis Allard

Subspecialist Trauma Surgeon 

Dr Allard received his degree in medicine, surgery and obstetrics from the University of Brussels in 1993.  

He has an notably diverse personal and professional experience, having trained and worked in Brussels, Toronto, Luxembourg and Cape Town. He has completed training in general surgery and is renown as a highly versatile surgeon.  

He went onto receive his General Surgical Fellowship at the College of medicine South Africa in 2005.  

From May 2000 to June 2011 he functioned as consultant, then clinical head (2008) in the surgical department of GF Jooste Community Hospital, Manenberg, Cape Town, where he was responsible for the application of good clinical practice of over 65,000 hospitalized patients, daily ward rounds and up to four monthly weekend ward rounds 

35 500 patients (50% surgical, 25% gynecological, 25% orthopedic) were operated at GF Jooste during the years where Dr Allard functioned as clinical head. 

 From September 2012 to March 2013 he was consultant Trauma surgeon at the Trauma Unit of Prof E Degiannis, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic hospital, Soweto, Johannesburg  

From March 2013 to February 2016 he was Remote site surgeon for the UN hospital and supporting the African Union medical team at UNSOA mission in Mogadishu, Somalia.  

March 2016 to February 2022 Dr Allard assured the private Trauma surgical care at the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital, Cape Town. 

Dr Allard works at the Rondebosch Medical Centre. His practice includes trauma and emergency general surgery. With his broad experience, Dr Allard prides himself on his ability to consider the whole of the patient with the greatest sensitivity, care and friendly manner. His patients do get fully educated on how to live a healthy and fulfilling life
